The Dr. Haydar Abdel Shafi Center for Culture and Development holds a meeting in collaboration with the Women's Affairs Center on promoting a culture of non-violence in Palestinian society.
The meeting began with a welcoming speech by Ms. Heba Hijazi from the Women's Affairs Center, welcoming delegates, media representatives, and youth. She discussed the impact of violence in Palestinian society and the reasons for its prevalence, touching upon crime in the community and the factors associated with it, including domestic violence. She also addressed various social violence issues and their multiple manifestations, especially domestic violence, and discussed solutions and necessary mechanisms to resolve them, aiming to achieve community recovery and domestic peace, and to end crime and reach a cohesive society. She then discussed various methods and mechanisms to help reduce violence and its associated problems. Participants, including delegates, media representatives, and youth, spoke about the approaches they follow in solving community problems, emphasizing the importance of joint efforts to reduce violence and contribute to achieving domestic peace and social cohesion.
