"Dr. Haider Abdul Shafi Center for Culture and Development Hosts a Dialogue on Liberatory Education and Digital Diplomacy"
The Dr. Haider Abdul Shafi Center for Culture and Development held a dialogue titled "Liberatory Education and Digital Diplomacy" at its headquarters in Gaza City, featuring Dr. Mohammed Shubeir and Mr. Khaled Hamdan.
The session began with a welcoming statement from Mr. Baraa Al-Far from the center, who greeted the guests, attendees, and participants. He emphasized the importance of liberatory education in fostering a generation committed to democracy, ethical liberation, and intellectual freedom.
Dr. Mohammed Shubeir expressed his gratitude to the Dr. Haider Abdul Shafi Center for Culture and Development for hosting the event and their interest in innovative and constructive topics aimed at renewal and development. He discussed the concept of liberatory education and its relevance to oppressed peoples, as oppression itself fosters awareness among the oppressed.
He elaborated on how oppression and liberation are central concepts in liberatory education discourse, often juxtaposed with various dichotomies within a network of concepts, forming what he termed a "liberatory education toolkit."
Mr. Khaled Hamdan discussed the concept and evolution of diplomacy, noting that the digital revolution has introduced a new dimension to international relations, where visions, principles, and interests strongly collide.
By harnessing the full potential of digital diplomacy, states can enhance their foreign policy objectives and expand their influence on global audiences in cyberspace while maximizing state interests and protecting sovereignty.
He emphasized that digital diplomacy is characterized by the ability to gather and analyze large amounts of data and information in real-time, enabling governments to better understand foreign public opinion and design diplomatic strategies accordingly.
Participants discussed the importance of these topics in raising awareness among Palestinian youth, thereby enhancing their intellectual capabilities. This initiative is part of the center's efforts to enhance the intellectual and cognitive capacities of youth.
