It is clear that there are gaps in the Palestinian media discourse that weaken its impact on the international community. The reasons for these gaps can be traced back to Zionist propaganda, which distorts facts and manipulates events, as well as to the official Western support and bias towards this propaganda. Additionally, the repercussions of the division within Palestinian society contribute to these gaps due to the inclination towards narrow sectarian and partisan identities instead of a comprehensive national identity.

Statements by the President of the European Commission on the Nakba Day, celebrating the establishment of the occupation state's independence, reflect the extent of influence of Zionist propaganda and adaptation to its colonial narrative instead of the Palestinian national and historical narrative.

Ursula von der Leyen claimed that Israel turned the desert into a green paradise, as if there was no Palestinian people with their history, heritage, and achievements, and that the freedom of the occupation state is the freedom of Western society. This statement reflects the extent of influence and adoption of the Zionist narrative, denying the existence of the Palestinian people.

Zionist propaganda seeks to label our people's struggle as terrorism and works to distort events and manipulate facts, as seen in the case of the martyr Mohammed al-Dura, whom Israeli media falsely portrayed as a Jewish child targeted by Palestinians. Similarly, Israeli media falsely claimed that a group of children in the northern Gaza Strip were martyred by resistance rockets when they were actually killed by Israeli airstrikes.

Israel seeks to equate anti-Zionism with anti-Semitism and uses the Holocaust to garner international sympathy. Zionist gangs carried out one of the worst ethnic cleansing operations in the twentieth century in 1948 and committed dozens of massacres, continuing with the aggression in 1967 and the occupation of the rest of Palestinian territories.

The Israeli state denies international law and principles of human rights and refuses to implement any legitimate international resolutions, despite more than 750 resolutions from the General Assembly, 80 resolutions from the Security Council, and a series of resolutions from the Human Rights Council and other international organizations in favor of our people's rights.

The double standards applied by the international community, particularly in comparing Ukraine and Palestine, reflect Western achievements for the occupation state as part of the global colonial project. It is important for Palestinian media discourse to focus on the Palestinian historical narrative, debunk the Zionist narrative, and distinguish between anti-Zionist colonialism and anti-Semitism.

Despite the threats posed by the fascist right-wing government, it is possible to turn these threats into opportunities by linking Israel to apartheid and racial discrimination. Israel's adoption of the Nation-State Law in 2018 and the extremist right-wing government's program endorse the plan of decisiveness and push towards Judaizing Jerusalem and annexing vast areas of the West Bank, while maintaining the isolation and siege of Gaza.

It is necessary to emphasize our people's right to struggle and resistance under Article 50 of the United Nations Charter and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights for liberation and independence. It is important to utilize the human rights system, international law, and work to mobilize a broader solidarity campaign that adopts and supports the Palestinian national and historical narrative, and dismantles the Zionist colonial narrative.

The time has come to develop a unified Palestinian national discourse with a liberation nature that contributes to consolidating the international position in favor of our people's rights.
